Which one is more scary?

Paranormal 1 or 2 ?

If u got scared with the 1st movie do you think the 2nd was more or less scary?

reply

They both terrified me. The first one had a lot more creepy moments. The only part that truly scared me was when Katie was dragged out of the bed. But the whole thing was very suspenseful and creepy.

The second one had more jump scares, but they were really well done. The cabinet scene got me good. The last 20 minutes are completely terrifying and suspenseful, and I was hiding behind my hands the whole time.

I guess the second one scared me more, but it's very close. Like I said before, they both terrified me.

The first movie had a much creepier feeling to it than the second. Fewer people involved which made them seem more isolated and vulnerable.

I think paranormal 1 was much worse than this one, this one made me jump once or twice where the other one was way more creepy

2nd is way more creepy!

First one has few terrifying scenes. After the first's success the writer probably wanted the second one to be a lot scarier and paranormal. So, the second one is a lot more scarier, I can't even have the courage to watch it again.

I consider the 2nd one to be the scariest.I had watched Paranormal 2 a single time before watching it yesterday, and somehow this sequel managed to be scarier in the 2nd try.The 2nd time I watched it I had headphones equipped,so I could hear the creepy effects much better, such as slamming cabinets doors/drawers ,stomps, footsteps, growls, barks, cryings etc.I watched the first movie under the same conditions(headphone,TV,darkened room, late at night),however it wasn't as scary as P2,even when I watched the former for the first time.

I really liked the first one, but I thought the second one wasn't nearly as scary. It had potential, but they did the Hollywood thing: Try to explain everything and tie it up in a neat package. Still, this one is watchable, just not as scary in my opinion.

Jump scares don't do it for me. The thing I loved about PA 1 was that every time they went to sleep I found myself getting anxious and just waiting for something horribly terrifying to happen but then sometimes those things don't happen.

It keeps you guessing and never really lets you get comfortable in your own skin. The true terror of the first movie is the uneasy atmosphere and state of mind tht it put me into, rather than any of the actual on screen scares. It got into my head to put it simply.

I am not the type of person who gets scared at movies. In fact I can't honestly think of the last time a movie even made me feel a little uncomfortable. Paranormal Activity 1 freaked me the *beep* out. I had to turn on the lights in my house half way through the movie and I actually fast forwarded through the attic scene because I just knew that something was going to happen and make me urinate all over myself.

Paranormal 1 got me BAD. Paranormal 2 was, I thought, a bit of a let-down. The first one really worked the whole "fear of the unknown" angle, leaving me wondering more and more, "What the HELL is going ON, here?!?" There's some suspense in the second one, but I felt it "explained" too much, and didn't leave me with the lingering uneasiness that the first one inspired. I'm intrigued by the trailer for Paranormal 3, and I'll see it at the theater, but my expectations are much lower.

well I actually gain some courage to rent PA2 yesterday and watch it in the night with my sister and guess what it was about 1 hour of the movie and I was like when am Im going to get scared ¬¬

so yes this one like make me feel less scared about the first movie coz now they explain what happened. and I was like relieved but the first one like u said is so scary and we dont know what is happening and why ...

Im definitely watching the 3rd one in the movie teather soon ! i guess is about katy and kristi when they were kids

reply

I agree with those saying that they tried to tie things up too much. Big, BIG mistake to try and even suggest the tired, weak and ridiculous "Granny made a deal with the devil" schlock.

I think the 1st one is more scary, there is way more creepiness and feeling of helplessness in the 1st, in the 2nd I feel that there was something that could be done because it was a prequel but also the jump scares are not as scary because when i re-watched it I knew when they were going to happen, when I re-watched the 1st I didnt remember when everything was going to happen and was still suspenseful.

Second I have to say. I was debating whether or not to see number two. I saw the first in the cinema and unfortunately there were a group of young people who continuously talked through the movie and anything at all that happened they fake-screamed. In hindsight, I should've walked out way before then. So I didn't like the first one... Not that I'm saying it was badly made.

I would have to say I thought the 2nd one had more going on, and I preffered it over the 1st, but neither really freaked me out. The first one did make me jump a little when she was ripped out of bed, and the 2nd one had that fun staircase scene, but they weren't even close to some of the scariest films I've seen, like Insidious and the original Shutter. Now those are scary movies.

First one was amazing, the ending gave me nightmares for a while, the second one was extremely boring and reminded me too much of big brother to be honest.

by far the first one... i dont understand why everyone thinks the second one was scary. i think it was around 45 minutes into it and all we had seen was the mobile move in the crib?

and then the 'scares' in the second werent anywhere near as scary as the first... atleast in the first we saw the hoof prints (!!!), the doors slamming, and some one pounding on the door, the loud roar from the living room that scared the hell out of me... even the light turning on and off in the back room freaked me out.

the movie took a turn for me when she started getting posessed... but everything else was awesome. I laughed out loud in the theater when she got pulled out of bed... until it drug her down the hall.. then i flipped out.
