I'm only overweight from my shoulders down?!?!

They couldn't even bother with prosthetics for her throat and face! I withstood about 20 minutes of this before bailing out. Even Adam Kaufman couldn't keep me tuned in. Maybe I'll try it in the future, but it's such a sloppy approach. "Let's just pad her under her clothes. Nobody will notice!"

Maybe someday I'll tackle this one again.

Her neck and face are far too thin and angular. I've seen a variety of women, too, of all weights. I've never seen a girl as large as they have her padded have a scrawny neck and sunken cheeks. Everyone watching it pointed it out and said how ridiculous it looks. If they don't care enough for that and the way the movie was going, including her punching out the blonde, I didn't give it much hope. By mutual consent, we looked for something else and came up with "Love Field", starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Dennis Haysbert.

Again: I might try watching it, only for Adam Kaufman. Otherwise, what a disappointment it was turning out to be. I LIKE Lifetime movies~just perhaps not this one.

It is possible to have a thin face and an overweight body. It's just not very common. I knew a girl once who from the shoulders up looked to be normal weight...even thin. Even her neck and shoulders looked thin. The rest of her body was not thin though. It did look strange, lol, a bit like the character in this movie. They just have a "pear" shaped phisique. So, ya, it's possible.

Strange indeed, considering what a dreadful "actor" this guy is. He looked confused throughout most of the movie, which is a bad sign.....

That might be, but it doesn't change that she looked completely unconvincing and behaved unconvincingly. I might try it later, but it looked as if they didn't even care enough to do a good job with makeup/padding/etc. She looked so fakely padded. We know she is slender, but the eye should be fooled and can be. We've seen other movies in which it was done. It's as if this was a total rush job.

I still do not believe there is any way that a supposedly shy, insecure, overweight woman would punch another woman! That was absolutely ridiculous! What was/were the writer/writers thinking?!

Her appearance only registed with me in this way. Why were they showing an overweight woman as frumpy with unkempt hair and a generally sloppy appearance? Any woman, plus sized or any size, can take pride in their appearance.

And even if someone is self conscious about their size, you can still wear makeup and BRUSH your hair.

The padding on the body and the slim face were not as much as an issue for me.

It seemed insulting to suggest that Nola only took pride in her appearance at the very end, when she became slim and she lost the weight.

I thought Chip was unconvincing too especially with his weird facial expressions. Its like he was confused througout the movie. Kaufman can't act in my view.

Nola punching a woman was far-fetched but seeing the woman Chip had dated and than believing he'd invite Nola for a drink was also very unconvincing.

Chip was shown to be pretty shallow with his prior relationships but than he approaches Nola. Yea sure......

I also didn't understand the scene where Nola's dinner was burning and the fire alarm went off. What was the point of that scene?

I completely agree about her hair especially! Most overweight females generally take a lot of pride in their tresses; the majority have beautiful hair, not, as you noted, unbrushed and unkempt, especially the type of woman she's supposed to be. Makeup is not always the case, but certainly hair care is!

I simply think the whole look was wrong, making her a joke more than a person we were to care about.

I can judge only by the portion I watched, ending with her walking down the street talking to him. We bailed out then. It sounds like it stayed a sloppy story.

I must restate that I am a very big fan of Lifetime movie channels and frequently watch one or more films each day on one or the other, usually LMN. (I'm disabled, so I have a lot of time to fill: watching movies, activities on the Net, reading, writing, penpalling, etc.) Lifetime runs everything from science fiction, fantasy, horror, adventure, true stories, romance and more. Among my favorites are these, not all Lifetime originals of course: "First Born" with Elisabeth Shue, "Disappearance", "Still Small Voices", "The Good Witch" and its sequel, "Hush Little Baby", "The Marsh", "Sin & Redemption", "How I Married My High School Crush" (silly fun), "Now & Forever", and many others. I don't often get so bugged by a film, and I wasn't alone in my judgment.

I just now decided to watch this movie on Lifetime, mainly because I am bored lol and I had to come on here to see if anything was said about the distribution of her weight. Her body looks totally off from her head and I have a hard time beliving that this is the way they wanted her to look. It is ridiculous looking and so far, 13 minutes in, I am not finding this movie too believable but I will try to finish it lol

I'm catching it on Lifetime right now as well and I have to say I agree with you mcg2008-1. I'm going to try to finish it too haha
Don't be ridiculous! Jack would never die without telling me

I got through it, how about you? lol I thought it was sorta ridiculous, not a good plot structure and the weight thing just didn't work. I wasn't impressed with this movie.

I got through it. And I agree with you. It was very cookie cutter and it didn't leave me with any lasting feelings. I didn't care enough about any of the characters.
