Cute Couple

I love Lifetime's Original Movies and this one didn't disappoint. I loved Poppy in this role; she really shined as being funny, smart, quirky, and endearing. I loved the cast, too. I was so surprised to find (via IMDB, of course) that she's married to the actor who plays her romantic interest in this movie.

No wonder they had such great chemistry on camera! It was all in their eyes how much they love each other. I hope this couple makes more romantic comedies together in the future!

Lifetime did a good job with "Lying to Be Perfect." It was WAY better than Lifetime's "Maneater" which had not one but TWO parts to an awful movie.

Oh, I loved this movie. I love Poppy and was really looking forward to it and it didn't disappoint.
I didn't realize that this guy was her husband in real life. I wanted to see them together ever since they were in Without A Trace. It was a joy to watch them play a couple in this movie.

I want to buy this movie.

hi meb62661

yes i did watch primarily because I wanted to see if I could like or enjoy Poppy as an actress since I disliked her character so much on WAT. I generally don't like LIfetime because I think their movies objectify woman, but since this appeared to be a comedy I figured I'd give it a try.

you don't intend to watch it yourself? I was under the impression that you liked the acting of Poppy?

So is it worth watching? Seems like fairly mixed reviews.

Hi meb 62661

Well, in my opinion, I can't recomend that you watch it. The first half was boring and the main storyline of the second part is basically Nola (Poppy) falling in love with Chip (Adam). If you think PM and AK have chemistry (I really don't see it but apparently other people do) and like seeing Poppy and Adam "act" onscreen together that would really be the only reason to watch IMO. But its not much of a stretch as actors to fall in love with your real life beau.

Also, PM attempts a British accent and its painful to listen to. I don't think she got the accent at all. Don't want you to be subjected to that accent!

(I agree with your assessment of ALP's acting 100%. That is an issue that we will always agree on. He is an outstanding actor and really the best actor from WAT IMO. I hope that Balibo is released in the USA. I will go see it right away.) Have a good day.

Update on Adam & Poppy:

As a matter of fact, Adam Kaufman, while being the father of their son Jackson Philip, was never her husband, as you can read here...

..only her "significant other", and they split in September 2011. It's a shame, really, they made a gorgeous couple.
