Dead or alive ?

There is a theory floating around that the person who opens the door at the lighthouse for the adult Can is Ezel himself. I'd like to think so. It sucks to watch Ezel go through all that the did just to kill himself over Eysan.

Tough as nail Ezel reduced to a whimpering Romeo. Blech

I like the ending because it's ambiguous. Each viewer can choose what he believes in.I think the fact that the person who opens the door scratches his head(just like Omer used to) is a possible hint.
It's such a complexed and sad story.I believe it's Omer at the lighthouse at the end.The scene with poison in the train is symbolical(the way I see it).
To be Omer means to love Eysan. When Eysan died,Omer died too.He had no reason to live.
After the revenge was over,Ezel had no purpose either.
So now he is at the lighthouse, pointing the way to others. He has lost his a long time ago.

I like what you said but also we cannot be sure he really died on the train, he might have survived.
& importantly, the name means perpetual or everlasting, so it might as well have been him opening the door to can, the story will continue with other characters in a different time. A bit like his story intermingling with the story of Ramiz & Kenan.

I agree with you!In the Bulgarian forum we discussed that final scene very thoroughly! Is is very confusing and makes you think a lot long after the movie is actually over!Personally i think the one who opened the door is Ezel!He tried to kill himself in the train with Eysan but he didn't succeed because Ramiz (the one who knew him best) had foreseen this. He would never kill hos own child and gave him the ring in order to save him!
I have to say that Ezel managed to get at my top 5 list of best serial movies!Great show, great actors and that Extremely charming Kenan :)))I can't imagine anyone but him playing this role!!!Bravo
