Positively trippy


You have to watch this a few times to get the whole thing,esp on peyote.It's one strange trip.

Yes there was. The movie is ridiculing the hippy/drug-experimental ethos of the late sixties, which bore the "event" in 1966. Elena is a teenager so the film had to be set somewhere around 15-20 years after 1966.

Hmmmmmm. I actually never thought about it like that.
But yeah, I agree...not only was it necessary to set this film in 1983, it was visually entrenching. I felt like I was under a trance for 2 hours, and then I woke back up in 2016. (I just watched it last night for the first time).

It was definitely a trippy movie. But in my opinion, it was far from positive. It was more like a "dark-trippy-psychological thriller". The whole movie had this really eerie, but yet psychedelic vibe to it. The main character was a total psycho.
