Criminally Underrated

It is so sad to see this incredible film not getting the attention it deserves. I only regretted that I did not get to see it when it was running in a theater in Austin because the visuals were stunning.

Yay for cerebral sci fi!

For sure, man. I'm hoping that it'll reach cult status but the film barley has enough attention to even receive that. Magnet and the director should seriously push this film some more to get the word out there. This film is way too damn amazing (and different) to just fade away in obscurity

You mean Norman Bates Jr. is the baby daddy?

I think that's part of the charm of these movies, they slip under the radar and are only appreciated by a handful of people.

I wasn't born yesterday, you know - I've seen movies.

I totally agree and I think that was the experience they were shooting for. I love discovering old cult movies that no one in my circle of friends would appreciate or find but me. It's like roaming around a video rental store and finding an old B-movie hit that you've never seen or heard of

Kinda like that awesome hole in the wall restaurant that's fantastic 'till it gets popular.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

The movie definitely isn't for everyone. But I agree...it is really underrated.

2019 and I can't believe I never heard of it til this week. Pretty good. Not perfect, but overall great compared to the shit they pump out today.

Have you watched "Mandy (2018)" by the same director?

reply

I'm probably gonna watch it tonight, though the previews didn't excite me as much as this movie and I loathe Nicholas cage, but I'll watch it for the director. What did you think of it? I was more curious about the MKultra angle and atmosphere of this movie vs. the violence/gore/blood of "mandy"

Follow up. I did finally watch Mandy 3-4 mos ago....can't say I loved it. Black Rainbow was more enjoyable, but forgot much of it. Will have to rewatch.
