Did Paul's law partner Anne know what he did and what he was going to do? In their last conversation it almost seemed like she did, although I doubt it. Could he have confided in her seeking legal counsel therefore gaining attorney/client privilege? Since she was terminally ill, I'm sure she could've and would've taken the secret to her grave.

I assumed he'd told her something or that they had such an understanding of one another that she knew something serious had occurred and didn't need to ask questions.
