Wing Chun

When we first see Nicholas Tse fight we see him using wing chun kung fu, which wouldnt of made much sense since in that era nobody in the army would of learnt it. I know Nicholas Tse trains in wing chun in real life but they should really of got him using another fighting style

Can you actually prove that nobody in the Chinese military would have known Wing Chun? Maybe they learned before they enlisted?

And in that era, soldiers aren't so much in an "army" as much as a militia under a warlord's control. There isn't much in the way of a standardized training doctrine for the entire country in 1920's China.

He looks like he's doing some dance moves when he fights.

I have to say though, he is such a b*tch in this movie - I think he did very good as the main antagonist.
