Miranda: The easiest show on Hulu to recommend to virtually anyone

Now that the entire series is up on Hulu, it is worth binge watching the entire thing from front to back.

I have watched it over and over and still laugh at many of the same bits again and again.

A lot of my enjoyment of the show is the spot-on writing and acting by Miranda Hart.

The acting is sublime by the entire cast and while there is one disappointing plot inconsistency, which is more of a quibble on my part (the un-named Customer marries Clive even though the two are shown to have met, but not MET in an earlier part of the series), the show as a whole entertains and touches the ol' heart strings without being mawkish.

I adore how Ms. Hart is willing to throw her character under the bus, over and over - exposing her foibles, faults, and flesh (often in equal measure). I appreciate too how Ms. Hart, the writer, allows her characters to change and develop, or in the case of Stevie, to devolve.

Stevie starts out by bedding the man she says she will, but by the later seasons seems unable to do much more than pick up a local constable of questionable morals or interest in her as a person. This is a symptom of Stevie starting strong and becoming weak and whiny by the wrap of the show. Season One Stevie is all Allure and condescension, whereas she becomes a mass of insecurities and desperation by the show's end.

I, for one, am glad she decided to end it as she did. Miranda has reached an unqualified resolution and what with wedding after wedding the show ends on a happy and graceful note.
