How frustrating was that *spoilers*

This film had so much potential to be up there with the likes of The Chaser/Memories of Murder/Oldboy etc.

Solid cast, a really interesting and twisted story with some good twists but from some reason it just didn't work as well as it should have done. It runs out of steam.

After the first hour I was thinking I was watching another great Korean thriller, especially when you start to learn more about the tragic story at the centre of it all, I was thinking this film would leave a lasting impression.

I think that's my main gripe, I don't think they utilized it enough, could have done with one or two more scenes with the two at the centre of it communicating to bring something more to that relationship. To make us feel something more for their tragic relationship they needed more screen time together.

The ending just seemed really abrupt. I was expecting some epic breakdown from the girl when the guy fell leading to her eventually killing herself/going crazy based on what we get told about their relationship, but then the more I thought about it, the lack of time and actual exposure (so what we actually saw) to their relationship that we got would have made that ending not as effective as it could have been. Her just walking away from the guy in a relationship that we barely could get invested in made sense when it shouldn't have done.

I genuinely think with a few tweaks in the script and better editing this could have been something really good. IMDB rating is fairly spot on I think, it's nothing more then a 7, but it could have been a 9.

Yeah, I was left unsatisfied as well.

I couldn't see why, since they had a relationship of sorts for so many years, and even committed murder together, how could she just walk away as if he meant nothing to her? Obviously she meant everything to him.

Was she just using him all these years?

The problem is nothing is clear.
