I'd certainly buy it.

The producer was at the screening tonight and said the DVD will be released with LOTS of extra footage that was not included in the movie. He just did not say WHEN it's coming out, but I would guess in a few months. If the life of this film in the theaters is short, and since it's a documentary it will probably be short, then maybe it will come out for the holidays.

This film was released in October of 2015 to just 9 theaters. Its total gross at the box office (Up to 2/14/2016) has only been $86,000 dollars. This film should of been released on DVD already!

Since the makers of this film still keep entering this film into film festivals a DVD release seems to be very far off!

Now it is very foolish if them to keep entering the film in festivals because it has already had its chance at not only box office glory but their Academy Awards chances have come and gone as well.

There will always be an audience for this film but, a majority of the main stream audience have already forgotten about this film. Keep in mind once this film does get a DVD release date the producers/dvd company will have to spend more money on the advertising just to get people interested in it again. Had they released this film sooner the audience would of been bigger! By delaying the dvd they must think it is "Building an audience for the film" but actually it is "Losing a bigger audience it may have had"!

I think whoever has delayed this release should be fired. I know they only delayed the films release because they like promoting film with TAB HUNTER at the festivals! Once the film gets released on DVD they can no longer "Hang Out with him" or deduct the travel as a business expense

Well, what you have here is a VERY small production, and things like this rarely move along like they do for major movies. The movie was produced by Allan Glaser, which means at least some of the money, if not most of it, came from him. He most likely controls the release, and since he is Tab Hunter's partner, as in boyfriend or husband or whatever is going on between them, then I would say Tab has a fair amount of control over this project as well, though he seems to take a back seat when it come to the business end.

Something like this takes a lot of time, energy and money to make happen. Releases are not as simple as they used to be, where you release something to theaters while setting up the DVD release and then you're done. Nowadays there is a huge overseas market, pay per view, on demand, cable, internet, netflix, and other ways of making money. Each one of these options is a lot of work and time and contracts to be signed. DVDs barely even sell nowadays, though obviously with a film about someone of his age the older folks will most likely want to own it or rent it from netflix. Plus his big fans will want to buy it to support him and show their love.

Since I was very off on when this would be released, I am guessing they are working on some sort of deluxe thing that will have many extras so even those of us who saw it in the theaters will still want to see it again. Plus one of the reasons you submit these films to festivals is to get more recognition and show a studio that your film has an audience. Then another company may pay to have the DVD mass produced and put out in stores. All of this takes time and energy, and if the right people aren't willing to pony up some money to release this it may be a long while before we see a proper DVD release of this title.

You make a valid point but for some reason I have a feeling that both AMAZON and NETFLIX would be willing to pay for exclusive rights.

This film however will never be found on a shelf at WALMART so chances are they should make a deal with an independent outlet (TLA) or sell it to NETFLIX for Streaming or maybe HBO or SHOWTIME might be interested.

By Allan Glaser delaying the DVD release he can still travel with film around the world and write off the expense (ALA FREE VACATION)

I have been not so patiently awaiting DVD release of this film for aeons now! How about Netflix? Seems a good fit! I hope I get to see it somewhere, soon, as it's very high on my must-see list!
