Unbelievably derivative

Eating Out: All You Can Eat, made a year earlier (2009), had just about the identical plot device (guy meets guy, guy uses someone else's online identity to approach the object of his affection, the unknowing 'someone else' suddenly enters the picture with the ensuing angst, 'hilarity' and chance to grow for the hero.

The hero even has an older gay friend as a mentor (Bruce Gray here, Leslie Jordan in Eating Out: All You Can Eat).

And who says Hollywood is unoriginal?
