Did anyone else think the vultures could have been a solution?

They might have needed both of the girls to pull this off, not just one. But what if :

1). they had grabbed one of the vultures (but not kill it; just hold it)

2). Tie the phone to the vulture’s feet or neck using shoelaces or a piece of the climbing rope (maybe break the lightbulb and use it to cut the rope)

3). With the phone tied to the vulture, let the vulture go. Eventually the vulture will fly back to the ground, and the cell phone will send the message

The other possible solution:

1). Kill the vulture (just as the protagonist did)

2). Stuff the phone inside the vulture just like the protagonist stuffed the phone inside her dead friend

3). If one vulture doesn’t feel like enough, wait until you get 2 or 3 and really insulate the phone with vulture parts

4). Drop the vulture with the phone inside so that the message will send

How about just putting one of the cell phones on the drone and gently flying it down to the ground?

they could have tied the cellphone to the drone with their shoe laces and there probably would have been 90% chances for the drone to reach safely a place where there is network.

Only issue I can think of is that the cellphone might bog down the drone and prevent it from moving

Good thinking, but I still liked how no one of scenes that annoyed me. The only thing that made me think that they should have turn off the red light, but they quite had lots of good solutions to try and I liked that.
