Red (HER) and Blue (HIM); Godard/Nouvelle Vague influences

Watch for the filmposters in the beginning of each film. MASCULIN/FEMININ by Jean-Luc Godard in HIM and A MAN AND A WOMAN by Claude Lelouch in HER. Both titles obviously already reference the story that is about to unfold.

What's maybe even more interesting is the use of color in both films. HIM is dominated by blue, not only in the lighting but also in the large number of blue props, clothes and set pieces. HER is dominated by red colors, again in the lighting of the film, and the clothes, props and set pieces.

Very cool to have these films 'grounded' in their own colors, and ofcourse a nice hommage to Jean-Luc Godard who loved color coding his films this way in the early sixties.
