Laughably bad sword play

I was about half-way enjoying this until the duel near the end. Instead of looking like they were trying to kill each other, they looked like they were trying as hard as they could to avoid hurting each other. If you're not going to do a sword fight well, just don't do it at all.

Lmao that was HILARIOUS. I came on here to see if anyone else noticed

The scene towards the end where John hits Tars a few times to stop him from striking him with his weapon (where they were being forced to fight) is pretty laughable too. You would just see minimal hand and stepping movements from John, punching and kicking sound effects, and Tars reacting violently to it.

Antonio Sabato Jr. didn't put his body to use AT ALL in those scenes. They should have at least given him some basic fighting/sword-fighting lessons to make it look believable. With Chacko Vadaketh (Sarka) right beside him

I read somewhere that Antonio Sabato Jr. actually has fenced for years. That, and the minuscule budget, resulted with him being put in charge of the choreography for that fight scene. Problems: Chacko Vadaketh had never held a sword in his hand before, and due to the time constrains they could get only a few hours of time to practice. End result: the actors really are mostly trying not to hit each other.
