It's looking amazing!

Saw some footage at the Asylum office with Mark.
It's looking fantastic. Can't wait to see the end product!

Do you know when a trailer for the film will be released? Any info will be good.

Hmmm, Chackov, could be Chacko Vadaketh??? Tars Tarkas and Sab Than on this board? The Mark he is talking about is probably director Mark Atkins. Just call me Sherlock Alex, or I could be wrong about all of them.

If they are, they sure are a couple of teases.

You are right Poh, and if they aren't just call me Watson.
If they are, I hope they tell us about their roles.

The only part I saw was during my ADR for Tal Hajus...Looked really cool with the lighting....Love the locations........I honestly have to say, that having sweetened my audio for my role, it's now going to sound 500% better in Post, then when I did it on loacation (Live).

Always Yours,

Tal Hajus...Ruler of the Jedacks, Lord of the Tharks!

Welcome aboard Mitchell. It seems we now have 3 actors from the movie on this thread. Come on Mitchell,Chacko and Matt, don't be teases, tell us some inside info, you don't have to reveal spoilers, just tell us what it was like during filming, etc.

BTW, Tal Hajus, is Jeddak, not Jedack.

Well I guess we can now judge for ourselves-the trailer is up on Asylum's website.

"But Matt Lasky really stood out, making a masked role something special"

I don't normally write on imdb but my buddies and me checked out this movie last night and thought the SAME thing about Matt Lasky. We decided that that masked man needs a fan club! We were laughing so hard throughout the movie for many many reasons, among which was the fact that we thought Mr. Lasky was "campy perfection"! He had a ton of latex on and was the only person in the film with clear emotion! This is obviously made to be a cheap-bad sci-fi movie, and I was not let down... IF you don't expect it to be 'good' in the classical sense or aren't super loyal to the source material, it is a fun-cheezy movie! Again, Matt Lasky stood out! Antonio was sexy and laid back, Traci was a bit too stoic for me, but I hope that Matt gets more roles. I'd like to see if he has range...if so, he could be going places! And if not, hopefully we will get some sequels out of this silly fluff!

I wonder if some of that incredibly cheesy dialogue came from the book?

Come to think of it, I don't think they used a single line of ERB's original dialogue... or if they did, they snuck it in under the radar.

"You forgot one thing, I'm gonna kill you!"
"And now you're a s**** world conqueror."
"How do I know you won't run away with Mr. Carter?"

Nope, those did NOT come from the pen of Edgar Rice Burroughs.

She's right.

Please take note of what I am about to say, because it isn't something I say often:
I agree with Tracy Lords.

Ugh. Now I need to gargle with peroxide.

I've read some comments from people beating up on Traci but I don't see what more she could have done with the role. Who knows what was left on the digital version of the cutting room floor.

reply

She might have tried changing the expression on her face from time to time, she looked like she was angry at the world the entire movie, even when she should have had a surprised/happy/relieved look. Maybe you weren't watching her face though.
Her performance here ranks up/down there with the worst acting jobs of all time, like Jim Carrey as the Riddler, Anglina Jolie in Sky Captain, Uma Turman as Poison Ivy, Robert De Niro in Stardust, Dustin Hoffman and Robin Williams in Hook, Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face, Andre the Giant in The Princess Bride and any movie with Will Ferrell.
BTW, the encluded all the cutting room floor footage in the deleted scenes.

Will Ferrell is hilarious and you sir alexchapman apparently do not know what funny is. You must have a depressing existence and Will Ferrell feels sorry for you and will one day touch your life and your eyes will open and see Will Ferrell for the amazing thespian that he is.

reply

No, coty, Will is not funny in the lest, you however are much funnier than him. Almost thought you were serious for a second.
