Two Strong Leads

This is the 1st film I've seen Saoirse Ronan in and only the 3rd for Gemma Arterton. I found them both excellent, particularly GA who keeps surprising me by overcoming her physical handicap (curvy & gorgeous) and producing a striking performance. What a pity this film seems to have had a problem getting a good distribution deal. I caught it in a nearly empty art house theater whilst all the surrounding multiplexes are crammed with utter junk.
I'd happily watch these two together in any Genre I can think of so lets hope some wise producer/director casts them instead of the usual pair of dudes/duds when putting together a two lead film.

I was hoping for a sequel.

Sequel? okey would you like the Brotherhood now hunting those four outcast? Will you want it an action vampire flick this time? well it will be cool yes, but other people will think its very hollywoodish this time if they made a sequel to this,

if the original author of this short story decides to make a rightfully sequel then that will be interesting to know how will that be, right now I can't fathom a sequel other then them four living in hiding once again as Vampires in modern times movie and novels almost always does.

I will watch this movie again.Gemma Arerton and Saoirse Ronan are so great together.

I've only seen Arterton in a few movies, but she's been excellent in all of them; save the Hollywood stuff which is like sleepwalking for serious actors anyway.

Amy: I swear to God...I swear to God! That is NOT how you treat your human!

Yeah a lot slower than I'm used to, but finely acted.

I couldn't imagine a better fate than a long and lustrous winter! 

You can't be serious. They are absolutely dreadful in everything I've seen, and this film is no exception. But, if Gemma Arterton playing the slut as usual and Saoirse Ronan being the lonely emotionless teen for the 5th time is "excellent" acting for you, that's okay...

🐺 Boycott movies that involve real animal violence (& their directors) 🐾

The strongest aspect of a flawed movie IMO. Arterton was her usual good, feisty self, while Saoirse Ronan was especially compelling. With those eyes of hers, she made a perfect introverted vampire.🐭

Saoirse is amazing in this but Gemma's flashback scenes made me cry.
