if you disagree, you've probably never taken alcohol/drugs because you are depressed... because that's what this character is doing in this film. he's a wasted manic-depressive
he's all happy but it doesn't take much to slap the smile off his face. when he asks his friend if he likes the song, his friend tells him yes, however...
kanye picks up on the condescending tone in his friend's voice. how he's embarassed to even be seen talking to him. he wishes that his friend DID like the song, but he wishes more that his friend would just tell him the truth -
"no dude, this song is horrible. it sounds like a bullS#!t akon song or something. i used to totally respect you but you've lost all credibility in my eyes. just look at you. they would kick you out of this club for being too messed up if you weren't some famous celebrity. you are totally making a fool of yourself and you're embarassing me and my girl. please go home and sleep it off, kanye. get your life back together, man."
the performance is so realistic... it feels like everything is totally real up until the end when it starts getting weird
