Hey Rod...Ever hear of DESILU?!

Unbelievable. In 90 minutes he never even acknowledges the studio or it's chief, Lucille Ball, whose appreciation for it gave the show a stay of execution.

He needed someone wiser guiding this project so it would have more perspective and not just be a lame video diary.

Not a SINGLE word about Gene Coon either, the guy who created (or at least was the major driving force behind):
-Klingons
-Organian Peace Treaty
-Khan Noonien Singh
-Zefram Cochrane (in "Metamorphosis"), and
-THE PRIME DIRECTIVE
-Devil in the Dark (featured in this documentary)
-Arena (featured in this documentary)

One of the more fascinating parts of the story was regarding D.C. Fontana, who talked about his control over the product and her inability to work with him any longer at the end (despite +2 decades of working together). I don't really think it was all a development later in life though, he screwed Alexander Courage out of half the royalties to the Star Trek theme by making up lyrics (that were never meant to go with the music).

In the end criticism is largely brushed aside, and the "myth" continues to be propagated. I get what his son was doing with this, but I didn't feel like the content embodied the "Trek Nation" title.

"No, not the mind probe!"

Then you missed the point of this film. He was finally discovering who his father was. He wasn't trying to learn more about Lucille or Desilu or (insert supposedly snubbed writer/director/actor/makeup artist/prop artist here)
He wanted to find the man the entire Trek Nation knew and loved. He wanted to find his father.
