Everyones lines were scripted in this movie. More seriously though, that's Hannibal's schtick. He's like that in everything he does. He's disconnected from the line and acts like he doesn't really care, which I find funny. Like most comedians with a gag (Will Ferrell is definitely one as well) you either like it or don't as a whole. Like I said, I thought he was the funniest part of this otherwise bland movie...

Yeah i know it was all scripted lol and I know it's his routine but I don't think you should give Will Ferrell as an example, he'll be a leading it supporting actor in any movie how does from now so don't know if he counts, but he reminded me of Wanda Sykes esp in Evan Almighty!!

All of his lines consisted of the overplayed to death "Cause I'm black..." joke and he didn't add anything to the movie. I would have rather see the boss be showned more. His stories were hilarious and his chemistry was with Will was prett funny.
