I tried to like this film, but it fell into unrealistic cheesy comedy

The motor cycle scene was unrealistic.

The gymnasium was over dramatic

The castle type of home, way over imagination.

Another water down film.

expecting realism in this kind of comedy is probably unrealistic in itself but yeah the cheese factor in this movie keeps gathering momentum til the end when dusty finally gets his own thing and moves in next door!!

the skateboard thing was fun but was dropped quickly.

It kind of falls into the Hollywood zone of fixing everything in 90 minutes to 2 hours. It doesn't have time to be realistic. As a step-dad, I can vouch for the long time it takes for the dust to settle with stepkids, which averages 7 years, not 8 months...so, I didn't expect realism, especially knowing that most of Will Ferrell's movies are not to be taken too seriously

I did not get that at all.

I thought the motorcycle and skateboard scene was way too cartoony for this kind of film. It made it feel like a cheap pg film instead. It ruined ny experience quite a bit but I watched this on Hulu while I had a delicious meal and dessert so I still enjoyed it.
