At the Cannes press conference, a new method of distribution was mentioned. Loach is trying to buy the rights for his films in an attempt to allow a greater audience to watch the film. If Route Irish doesn't make it to major cinemas around the world, it will probably be made available legally for download.

I saw it tonight at the glasgow film festival. its very good. very brave, very ken loach. im not good at reviews though so i will say no more other than there was a Q&A with ken loach after the screening. He mentioned they were trying to get it shown on sky as a kind of event to bring it to the people whp maybe wouldnt see it at little independant cinemas. A very good idea i thought.
oh and john bishop, although a central role, dosnt have much screen time and is perfectly acceptable and believable. more than adequate.
Yup! Its the scouse comedian John Bishop. I was suprised when I saw that. I never knew he did serious acting roles, or is this his breakthrough in that genre?
