An artist on the rise?

Amazing film with an simple artistic dab. Concise independent film-making at its best. The boredom & weariness is depicted brevity without being excruciating on the viewer. Look how quickly we're shown how without a father the family is turned into desperation, confusion, bored-chaos. The older son with no other guidance gets his sexual advice from a scumbag. The younger son joins little hoodlums to fit in somewhere. The mother conceals her vulnerability and sadness all while maintaining the man's duty.

Petock distills all the characters desperate yearnings, uncertainties and tensions in gut-sinking ways. Turning expectations into personal uneasiness.

Hope other can chip in. I would like to expand when others do.
