Look how quickly we're shown how without a father the family is turned into desperation, confusion, bored-chaos. The older son with no other guidance gets his sexual advice from a scumbag. The younger son joins little hoodlums to fit in somewhere. The mother conceals her vulnerability and sadness all while maintaining the man's duty.
