Lifetime sinks to a new low - This is a myth.

The pregnancy pact NEVER happened. Ever. It was nothing but BS and media hype. But thousands or even millions of Lifetime viewing housewives will fall for it a second time. I bet these girls had Rainbow Parties and wore sex bracelets too.

Jumping to conclusions,aren't you????

reply

I totally agree with you. It was completely blown out of proportion in the media. It was bad enough the first time, it really doesn't need to be made into a made-for-tv movie. Gloucester has suffered enough!

reply

From what I've been told (I know people who went to Gloucester High and live in the area myself), it wasn't so much a pact as it was an exorbitant amount of people getting pregnant at the same time... the pact is fictional, but the pregnancies did happen.

reply

I don't care if the pact was a myth or not ..these are the best Lifetime movies. They are always so bad and unrealistic and totally golden.

And they always make American moms even more overprotective than they already were...

Anytime you have a lot of teen pregnancies among friends, you have to assume that the girls talked about their sexual experiences and might have been jealous if their friend was having a baby and they wanted one too. I have seen this same thing happen among married friends and family members. Seeing a pregnant girl or woman causes a girl or woman to want to experience having a baby too. Once my first friend announced she was pregnant, the rest of us friends all went on to get pregnant too. So, even if it wasn't a "pact" that was verbally agreed upon, it was a psychological "pact" among those female students.

reply

How do you know it didn't happen, are you one of the girls, do you know the girls?

reply

I know it didn't happen, and I attend Gloucester high currently. The media just blew it way out of proportion... its really frustrating.
How would you feel if a neighboring town starred your hometown in a float during a parade with pregnant dancing teenagers? They even threw condoms out instead of candy or something. If that wasn't bad enough, now theres this.

reply

I was at the parade, they threw candy that was in condom wrappers. Also, it was freakin hilarious and if had happened in beverly or salem they still would have done a float about it so quit whining

reply

It sounds like they need to be throwing more than just condoms. More like birth control pills. Isn't there sex ed in your high school?

reply

I live right next to where it happened. It was a pretty big deal. I was surprised a movie was made out of it. I will give the film a go even if will sure to be stretched.

How can a gourmet chef not know how to make rice?

reply

In Gloucester? Hahah. Most likely no!

reply

Hmmm. Perhaps some things were changed to sensationalize the movie to make more compelling and attract more viewers, like the fact that a pact was never confirmed. But there was a high school where many teenage girls got pregnant at relatively the same time.

Perhaps it's because I'm a guy, but even though the movie is loosely based on actual events, both are disturbing. Maybe not in this case, but it has been documented that teenage girls have given birth in order to feel the love they originally craved from boys.

So for girls who are currently thinking that having a baby is a way to receive love, please don't do it. The child isn't asking to be born. Do you really think the baby will appreciate the lack of financial support you'll provide for the first half of its life? Do you think your parents should support you? Are you expecting the government to? Not on my dime!!!

Either use protection or practice abstinence. It's that simple...really, it is!

reply

Maybe not a pact, but I'm sure there were quite a few daft little girls who thought it would be cool to have babies because their friends did.

reply

Well making a pact is just stupid but when I was in High School(2 years ago) I was working my job practice at the Social worker office and I had to make the pregnant/teen parents list and It was a long as list, the first semester was a 22 pregnancies list and the second semester some of them were already parents and the list sums up to 25.

That is on how big a group of girls?

reply

The whole school which didn't had much students anyway , it only had like 500 students and more than the half were girls.
