Daniel Ratcliffe sounded Canadian. Was this supposed to be in Canada?

He sounded Canadian. Was this supposed to be set in Vancouver?

I am Canadian so maybe that's why I did not notice anything, but what made him sound Canadian?

He sounded like English Rafe Spall who was also playing a Canadian in Life of Pi.

And they were both in The F Word/What If where they were both playing Canadians living in Toronto.

It was filmed in and around the BC coast, incidentally. I suspected that was the location when the film started, and then I knew for sure when the fat kid said, "Eh."
