Steve Gutenberg and Katie Gill in this Turkish movie?

I was intrigued to see these two American characters in this Turkish comedy movie.

Anyone has trivia/casting info on this?

Such a different professional move for Steve I think. Very different movie.

How observant everyone is. There are THREE Americans in this excellent movie: Mariel Hemingway is the third (major character). Anyone ever hear the name HEMINGWAY, or did I get an English degree just to correct you guys?

Thanks for pointing this out, I (still) haven't seen this movie, and certainly for some reason Hemingway did not catch my eye. Heck, I even forgot I was the one who opened this thread, it's been so long.

Also now you mention it's an excellent movie, I maybe should go and see it.

Hey, @berke-h, and thanks for your note.

If you haven't watched the movie yet, you're missing a huge statement about how governments screw groups of people by injecting their unwanted presence. It also shows how Muslims and non-Muslims can actually get along in a peaceful and friendly manner.

I watched it last night. (Note: YouTube Downloader does NOT get the subtitles for some reason. I'll keep working on getting around that and will post results here.)

Finally, this movie was recommended to me by a Facebook friend -- an 18-year-old Muslim girl in Tunisia, the only North African country whose US Embassy remains open during this temporary area-wide shutdown. She's taught me bits about her religion, and I've done the same for her about the Jewish religion; we've learned how amazingly similar the two religions are in a number of ways.

It's unfortunate this movie hasn't got the big attention of most Americans of ALL religions. Still, it's worth a 10.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.
