Holy *beep* that was awesome.

I'm pretty much googling everything I can on this story now, because I knew nothing about it going in. Sick ass movie. I loved it.

I enjoyed the movie as well. The dub, not so much. It took awhile for me to get used to the story changes, but once I did, I was able to enjoy it much more. I'm looking forward to Part 2, but based on the preview trailer, it doesn't look like they will be following the manga to its current point (kind of expected considering the movie's budget).

the dub didn't really bother me. Yeah, see lkike I said, didn't know anything about this story before hand, so as far as changes, I wasn't bothered obviously.

Let me ask you though since I'm invested in this story now, does Kei's brother live with Katu now? And I guess based on the snippet following the credits, Kei comes back. How long does that take? Does the girl come back too, how about the ass hole kid?

*Kato was the one who died. Kei is the one who lived.

I loved this movie too. The alien FX were way better than I expected, and the guys who play Kei, Kato, and Nishi are so attractive. I love the expressions Kei made all the time. He made me laugh a few times. I'm excited to see part two. I'm thinking about reading the manga, especially since they introduced the possibility of Kato coming back (who the heck was that in the last scene???), and according to the cast list for part two, the guy who plays Nishi will be back, but in a different role! Weird!

In the manga the girl does not come back, and the *beep* kid (Nishi) does. It doesn't look like the 2nd movie is following the manga at all though, so probably no to both of them now. Also, Kato's borther never meets Kei in the manga. Also Kato doesn't quite come back for a while in the manga. I'm actually interested in what they do with the story for the 2nd movie. Can't wait!

I suggest you read the manga. the story gets really sick. you can probably skip the first few volumes (I have no idea how far the movie goes)
