How does it end? [Possible spoilers]

I watched the pilot and while there's some mistery to tickle my curiosity, i wouldn't bother to watch the entire series,.. I'm not being a smartass here, there're so much pilots to give a shot out there these days and i really have a little time, but i digress,.. So maybe someone will explain and spoil, what the heck was that bigger submarine?
