Season 3?

I know it's early days yet (still 2 episodes to go
for season 2) but has anyone heard if there will be
another season? I can't really see how they keep
the frustrated love going on unless it involves
some new people but I really do love this show and
hope I get to see at least another season. I think
this show would be a hit here in the US.

Hmmmm
I'd be curious for a third season...however by the end of the second one I just think the story telling became exceptionally lazy.

NONE of the storylines really wrapped up, including that of the leads.
And all the other characters were thrown by the wayside so the two leads could be utterly selfish for a brief period?

What happened to the other ghosts?
Is the King really dead...and what really happened when the spirits were 'spat' at?
And correct me if I'm wrong...but Henry wasn't really Henry in the end was he?
I mean...he was still alive?

How do they explain that when the others were legitimate ghosts?

If anything I'd have preferred a conclusion like Henry being the one to evaporate.

This show - while quirky and unique - in the end really doesn't have any substance that holds it together as a proper story...it ended up more lost than "Lost"!?

In fact...the more I write here the more I actually hated it.

Arrrgghhhh....don't you hate that!?

A friend of mine found this statement elsewhere on the net - looks like no third season...

We promised you would be the first to know about the future of Spirited and this morning we received the following statement from FOXTEL Executive Director of Television Brian Walsh.

“Spirited was a brave and bold piece of contemporary television drama, as only FOXTEL can deliver. We are enormously proud of the show and its performance over two seasons. It was an intriguing storyline, beautifully directed and performed by a stellar cast. Producers Claudia Karvan and Jacquelin Perske delivered a remarkable Australian series which has resonated strongly with audiences. I feel it’s right for Spirited to go out on a high with the impossible love story of Suzy and Henry resolved in a way that’s as close to a happily ever after as was ever really possible ”

We appreciate and thank you for your passionate support of Spirited and we promise to continue bringing you the best in Australian and international drama.

Sad - The spiritual (yes, I know, bad pun) grandfather of this show was a program called "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir," which was on the air from the fall of 1968 through March of 1970 - and starred Edward Mulhare and Hope Lange (who won two Emmys for her portrayal of Mrs. Muir).

It also ran for only two short seasons. It was based on the book by Josephine Leslie (writing under the pen name of R A Dick) and the movie, which starred Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison. (In the book, the movie and the TV show, the ghost was a sea captain, and Mrs Muir was a writer. In the movie/book she was a widow, on a pension just trying to raise her child (movie,) - children (book).

Seems to be a curse against supernatural romances lasting very long on TV!

Well, at least it ended without leaving us hanging. I hate when a
show does that. Who knows, if there's enough demand they could
bring it back, but I don't hold out too much hope. They should
show it in the US. A whole new audience might bring it back.

You have a point- (I haven't seen all the eps yet... It's Spiritual grandfather, The Ghost and Mrs, Muir was cancelled with nothing resolved!

It appears the show has been pulled from the grave.

Has this been confirmed absolutely, or is it still in the campaigning stage? When does it start filming and or air?

Claudia and Jac made the announcement recently - no season 3. See spirited-tv.net for more info. :(

No word yet on the planned US version.

Go take a step outside - see what's shaking in the real world.
