Prisoners and people in jail? Nu-uh, don't think so

If Old man Farraday had been doing hard time in prison then there is no way Sebastian would be running into him at the county jail.

Yeah, with what he did to Farraday's wife, there's no way the prison system would stick him in the same prison as oldman Farraday. I guess Marky Mark pulled off another heist to make that happen.

Not just that but prison is for people who have already gone to court and been sentenced at which point you get assigned a prison and are shipped off. When you first get arrested you are kept in the county jail while you await trail which could be a couple of years depending on the case and charge. So showing him shortly after being arrested in the same facility as the old man is BS.

there is no time frame, it could be months later, and if he just pled guilty to the charges (hes wanted by the mob boss he failed, so doing time may be the safest choice, at least the boss doesnt have to make an example of him as his doing time is an example of what happens if you mess up, the person he tried to kill can identify him, all those construction workers know he was telling them to fill that area in first so know he put her there etc etc, he didnt have a hope in hell, plea bargain means at least he might shave some years) he could be sentenced quite swiftly, matter of weeks even. its only if he fights the charges and there is a case back log in the courts that it

could be a couple years later
a preliminary hearing would happen quickly and a sentencing hearing if he pled straight up would be weeks behind. so if he was sent to a state prison and didnt ask to be kept away from that guy then its not even odd theyd end up at the same place. it seems like he expected to be greeted as a friendly face, maybe hoping hed be under the old mans protection and that theyd see he only acted in desperation to save his life, he seemed surprised at the reaction he got, so its not like he was saying keep me away from that guy and they accidentally end up in the same prison. rival gang members end up on the same cellblocks, brothers, father/sons end up in the same prison, even people who have tried to actually kill each other before can end up in the same place, so yeh, totally plausible. really not a plothole, the guy wasnt in jail, he was in the prison yard, why would it have to be jail the next day and not prison a month later when the dust had settled? they didnt show him going through booking, interogation or being held at the local precint either, time can be compressed without it being a plothole.
