OK, It's a Heist Film - Spoiler!!!

A lot of the criticism seems to centre round the fact this belongs to the Heist genre and uses stock situtions. It's called storytelling, people!!!

(Even odder, some people complain that it does a bit of genre bending. Not a lot.)

Yes, the One Last Job, the Masterplan Gone Wrong, and the Idiot Kid Brother are as old as the hills. That's because they are heavy with drama for milking. And they are true to life. There are plenty of old lags behind bars who attempted to go straight and were tempted back to crime, and caught.

The violence here is realistic by Hollywood standards. As is the language. The dialogue is actually very funny. As is the come-uppance of the Captain and Briggs.

OK, it could do with some more exposition. But too much exposition is generally a criticism of Hollywood.

And a lot of the supposed goofs are rubbish. I mean: duct tape masks? The Panamanian gang are exactly the underworld's finest, and people who employ wolves as HR managers probably aren't too concerned about losing an eyebrow in an AK47-armed holdup!!!

I have never seen a heist film involving a container ship before. OK, there was Reykyavik Rotterdam (!!!) but what else???
