5.9? that's too high, WAAAAAYY tooo high

This movie... what is it? I won't call it sh** because I would rather make love to sh** for a week than ever come near watching this thing again. People wh LIKE this movie, ONLY like it, and yes I do mean ONLY, like it because they are fans of the director, NOTHING ELSE. I have seen Mysterious Skin, and I didn't really it, the 2nd time, but I knew why others did, and it was totally fine. BUT THIS? Holy moly! This IS the worst film I have seen BY FAR this year. I watched at a cinema last night, it was a double feature with "We need to talk about Kevin" obviously Kaboom was the 2nd movie showing. Why I didn't get up and walk out when watching this? I am goig to be a film student soon and hopefully become a successful director in the future, God willing. And I was like "Imagine if this was your movie, you'd be making people watch this awful very very very very bad movie.." all this time I was thinking that this movie was done by a rookie. A californian 19 year old rich dude....UNTIL I found out later when I got on IMDB that it was the dude that made Mysterious Skin!? If only I had known this when watching the movie, I would've easily have walkedout the first 10 mins.

CINEMA EXPERIENCE
There were about 60 people in the cinema when I was watching this, when it was over and the lights went on... there was 15... if only I had been smart enough to walk out. IF ONLY!

THIS is my #1 contender for WORST PICTURE at the razzies.

AND TO THE PEOPLE that say this movie is great... what are you guys on? Are you stupid? I can't understand ANYONE liking this film, JOHN WATERS is the man, he is great at makig bad movies very good. This one? PUKE!!! That's all I wanted to do when this movie was over, throw up, get it out of my system. BIG TIME.

SO.... and I come on here expecting it to be a 3.5 or probably in the bottom 100... and I see it gets a top 250 rating. If you are 13 years old you will probably like this depending on how immature you are.

Don't get me wrong, I like trashy films, but this had the wsorst everything in it. The sex was the ONLY interesting thing in the movie. Other than that? Nothing.

I felt sorry for the british girl in this movie... I was surprised she was in it. I know her, I've seen her in notes on a scandal and stuff... but to see her in this? Nahh...

my rating for this movie? 0.01/10 and that's atleast generous.

P.S. don't come telling me I need to get a life because I had one, and this one stole an hour and a half of it. So *beep* You

I thought Kaboom was good because it paints such a strange picture of college life. and I watched mostly because of recognizing the actors\actresses from other shows and movies

Hailey Bennett [the Haunting of Molly Hartley]

Thomas Dekker [The Secret Circle and some horror films

Chris Zylka [the Secret Circle]

Juno Temple [no other reason then she is HOT]

Rob Zombie is one of the greatest directors today

It was very typical of what I expect from any movie Araki directs. I have always felt that he has very interesting ideas but lacks the talent to develop those ideas correctly. I thought the movie was definitely interesting, but the execution was poor and the secret society and blowing up the world rubbed me the wrong way.

And before any Araki fans get on their "You just don't understand Araki's films," I understand them perfectly. I have been watching his films for 20 years now and while people like to sometimes put him on a pedestal as a misunderstood artist, I guarantee he is not. I get it, I know what he was trying to do, and it was sloppily accomplished.

That being said, I actually liked the movie and I am looking at giving it 6 or seven stars for a rating. This is mostly because the characters and bizarre story were interesting to me. Also because I came to this film knowing what to expect from a Gregg Araki film and I got exactly what I expected to get. While some might not think this is a good thing, I do. If I go into a movie knowing what to expect and actually getting that, I have to think the director for not wasting 90 minutes of my life.

I almost got the feeling that this was an attempt at making a Don Coscarelli style film but not getting it done as well as Coscarelli would have. Again, that being said, I will likely watch it again and refer it to people. It was a decent time watching it.
