I couldn't stop laughing. Especially at the really high pitched screaming from the guys and everyone "What the *beep* and "What the Jesus!" the whole time. I think I was guffawing at the end.
Then the end came and I'm thinking "Wtf did I just watch?"
Anyone else have a similar reaction?
i think that's the whole point.
all that build up with that cult and sosuch is just a facade. its basically a joke, but in a good way. this movie is not ment to make any sense, it gleefully plays around with genres and tropes, puts everything into a big blender and serves it in a long drink glass.
araki usually is that way (except mysterious skin), you'll never know when he is serious and when he's not. kaboom is silly, nonsensical and still manages to be endearing. in the end, i was laughing, too, because it was just so silly, but really, in a good way.
maybe the real achievement of this movie is that so many people seem to want this movie to make sense, and araki just refuses to. i like that thought :)
