Things I found to be out of place in the movie.

Now these are as some might say "trivial" at best. But I have to say they need to be pointed out as I found them really rather silly to be honest.

1. The over use of the musical score.

It was used in many places that I found it to be out of place in. Like when Watson was climbing down the cliff with the rope around him. The music there didn't make it tense or anything. Annoying slighty, but not tense.

2. Watson when he and Holmes entered the factory type building.

Watson was holding the revolver like professionals do in todays day and age. He had his trigger finger off and above the trigger as they slowly walked through the building. PEOPLE BACK THEN IN THAT TIME FRAME DIDN'T HANDLE FIREARMS IN THAT MANNER. Watson's finger would have been on the trigger as they went through the building. And he would not have been holding the revolver as high up and in such a manner that he did.

3. Holmes and Watson sneaking into the grounds of a mansion where Holmes tried to pick the lock of a door to get inside.

The lock was on the left side of the door. And it would have opened inward on the left side. When the door is finally unlocked. It opens inward from the right side. AND it is a completely different door from the one he tried to pick the lock of. The open door they entered was a different design, it had a handle and a window. Where as the one when they were out side didn't have a handle or a window.

You see I am not one for sitting there and looking out for these sorts of things. I am the kind of person who sits and watches a movie to enjoy it. But if I can spot these three things in the first 51 minutes then it's a bit of bad movie making. Usually these sorts of things are hard to spot. But those three things stick out like a pose of midgets!.

I've still got the rest of the movie to watch. It's sitting on pause at the moment. Holmes has just picked the lock of a magical door that changes it's look and design from when it is locked to when it is unlocked LOL.

So we'll see what happens next in this film... I'll be back. It isn't hard to pay a little attention when making a movie to make such things the same or in the right place etc. It's a little on the lazy side this movie with attention to detail. And if some people do call these things I pointed out to be trivial then that makes it even more lazy movie making. Trivial things are the simplest after all are they not?.

I saw this a couple of years ago on Netflix and just watched it again today because I heard the star, Ben Syder, speak about it at a Sherlock Holmes convention, and I wanted to see all the funny things he talked about, including talking to the wall while he was on the telephone. Got a kick out of Watson using a 1930s phone and Big Ben lit by electric lights. Watching it today I was wondering--is there only one horse in this movie? It looks like the same horse pulling a carriage, a cab, a carter's wagon, and being ridden by Dr. Watson to reach London!
