Poor Renato!

At first I didn't understand why he continued to be violent with Aimee once she told him that Regina was the one involved with Juan del Diablo. Now I realize that he doesn't believe she is the innocent one. He is disgusted with how she allowed her sister to take the fall for her. Am I right? He has always been honest and is now angry to see that everyone around him lies, lies, lies. His family and the servants have all lied to him to cover up for someone, including Regina and Clemencia. The only person that has not decieved him is Noel, his father.

It's a little more complicated than that:

He has never been in agreement with his mother about how to run the estate. Nor has he ever approved of how Rodrigo treats Regina.

The consequential target of his anger is Juan because he wasn't up front with him about his identity in the first place. That would have been forgivable if he hadn't also raided the ship with Rodrigo's cargo.

He is also finally seeing through Aimee's manipulations and passive/aggressive behavior.

I hope he survives long enough to find out the bigger secrets. I'd like to see him come to his senses.

I agree,I too feel sorry for Renato. It really just ocured to me now with Aimee's death. He changed dramatically, and he was such an innnocant sweet man that anyone would like to marry him.

For God's sake, he could have had any nice girl back then. He was handsome, rich, well-mannered, and fair-minded. No woman could ask for more.

Except for a nice mother-in-law.

I was relieved that his anger against Juan dissipated and he didn't really try to fire the pistol. However I believe there will still be one final conflict.
