Don't read if you haven't seen the finale yet (Spoilers)

My thoughts on the finale:

What is going to happen to La Finca? I can't imagine Clemencia living in the main house, nor do I picture Juan and Regina living in it with all its memories. I also don't see them having a modest lifestyle in the chosa after such a lavish public wedding and the fact that Regina now inherits everything that belonged to her family.

Phillippe/Felipe: Real comic relief character, but one has to wonder why he didn't originally apply for a hospitality-related job. Veracruz would have to have had several grand hotels in 1880 where he could have done well as a manager or maitre d'. This makes him look like he's going to be the founder of Les Ballets Trockadero:

Rodrigo's remorse: Is it real? Was he genuinely afraid of going to hell after death? He looked genuinely sorry for having been so unappreciative of Regina, but I had trouble buying his apology to Juan. Nor would I have forgiven him on either of their behalf.

Leonarda's fate was well-deserved, but I had a problem with the fact that the soldiers didn't search the entire property and would then have found her. I also don't think Rodrigo did Noel any favor by putting him in the position of finding the body.

Renato's death was unnecessary and horrible. Does anyone know whether he died in either the 1966 or 1977 version?

Miscellaneous:

No explanation for Clemencia's absence in the last two episodes. I suspect that the actress was ill and shooting schedules don't allow for that.

Beautiful wedding; the doves were adorable.

Final shot looked like photoshopped artwork for a book cover, which may have been intentional.

The Fabio Principle: Puffy shirts look best on men who look even better without them.
