A question for those who have seen it?

Hello there, I do not care about spoilers I was just wondering what it is about and does it get into the actual story of the Winchester house and Sarah Winchester? From the little I saw ,it was not the actual house at least not in the beginning. Thanks

NO, the movie doesn't really get into detail anything about the Winchesters. It is not shot in an actual location, it looks as though everything was green screened and the actors are not on a set. The movie tries for a psychological ending but fails miserably because it is very predictable. Basically this movie is about a family that moves into a home haunted by victims of Winchester guns. The family is tormented until finally giving the main ghost the resolution she was looking for. If you have Netflix watch it there. I would not recommend spend money to watch it!

Not from what I can tell - doesn't really seem to have much to do at all with the actual Winchester House besides the title. Disappointing.

No, that's not the house. Kind of obvious since San Jose, CA isn't even listed as a filming location.

Yeah, this had very little to do with the actual Sarah Winchester hauntings. Sarah was convinced that the ghosts of the victims of the rifles made by her family were haunting her. So she continued to build onto her home, believing that she was building to make the spirits happy.
Things from the movie that were similar:
*Her husband did indeed die of tuberculosis.
*She DID have a daughter, however her daughter only lived a few weeks and never made it out of infancy unlike the movie.
*She DID feel haunted by the ghosts of the Winchester rifle victims.

The story of Sarah Winchester is actually pretty fascinating and her house is one of a kind...doorways that lead to no where...stairs that lead to walls. Its awesome. If you dont know much of the story, I'd suggest looking into it.

The credits actually list the place that it was filmed in as The Woodbury Story House. It was pretty obvious from the start that it wasn't filmed on location because the actual Winchester House has a well maintained garden with lawns, hedges, fountains and date palm trees, which The Woodbury House obviously doesn't have.

"That mans' nuts!!! Grab 'em!"
