I get the feeling I've seen an ending like this in another movie but can't really remember what it was. I don't remember what that movie was about but I vaguely recall people in a trapped place and when they open the doors, it's a paradise-like place they end up in. Suggestions?

There was an episode of The Outer Limits where a group of humans were oppressed by an alien race that had taken over the earth (machines or aliens I don't recall) and they said that the humans could live as long as they were imprisoned behind a giant wall and made food/parts for the robots or aliens. To keep the humans from breaking free, they were all made to believe that there was nothing outside the walls as they had destroyed everything and the world wasn't fit for humans anymore.
Anyway, eventually the humans rose up and defeated their masters as a final act of defiance, but on opening the doors, instead of a massacred Earth, they found lush greenery...
