What the... Religious?

I have no idea what I just watched but why do I get the feeling theres an Adam and Eve/Eden reference in there somewhere? Hmm, curious.

I got the very same vibe. Maybe it was meant to be some sort of a "return to paradise" by going through hell. However, it also could have been an alien race abducting them since the place clearly was not Earth.

I agree with both the adam and eve parallel and alien abduction.

My interpretation is that they were two of the remaining human species. Humans are for some unexplained reason are endangered or near extinction and this is some captive breeding scenario set up by their captors. The coffin and the grave yard are meant to by symbolic of the death of the species if they don't mate.

That's my immediate take on it anyway after just watching it.

Hello,

interesting interpretation. It is not quite how we intended it- but it is possible to see it that way. Adam and Eve parallels are definitely in there as well...
our short interpetation: (SPOILER) They died and are in purgatory. How they act in the vault decides their fate - if they go to heaven or to hell. The guy could have killed and eaten the girl, but decided against it. From being an egotistical *beep* in the beginning the guy goes to being a caring human being. When this happens, the door to "paradise" opens. This could also be an alien life form, however...
We hope you enjoyed the movie...

Most people on this board didn't enjoy the movie and I am one of them. Purgatory, heaven, hell? These are all tenants of religions that recognize intelligent design and creation. Specifically, these three relate to a Christian worldview. So with the assumption that it is a Christian worldview and this was a time of purgatory before reaching heaven, there are many, many problems. The most important is sexual relations between the unmarried couple. I didn't write or choose this direction - whoever made this movie did. But I do know the basic tenants of Christian teaching. And if you are going to go this direction at least understand the foundation of the Christian faith specifically the 10 commandments. With all this said, it seems that the two people going through purgatory break the commandment of adultery (strongly forbidden in the old and new testaments) and are then allowed to go to heaven. If this is was the intent then the producers of this movie have shown they have no command of the subject they are dealing with.

Overall, really boring, really poor choice in the lead, slow and painful pacing.
