I'm constantly dumbfounded by the 20-somethings of today who LOVE Space Jam, usually citing the fact that they watched it as kids for why they still watch it today. There was even a midnight showing in Los Angeles last month.
Xanadu (1980) was box office poison and a critical flop and now it's a staple of midnight programming.
I can think of hundreds of cheesy, bad, dumb (etc.) flops that found an audience decades after initial release.
Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure will be the same, given time. In 20 years or so, when today's babies become tomorrow's stoners, mark my words: this will have a cult following.
