I just started watching it...

My mom persuaded me to start watching it. She's a big fan of the series.

I always promised myself I'd never watch it. I'm stubborn like that. But I must say, so far it is entertaining. It's managed to keep my attention. I like the characters.

I will say the zombies aren't as scary as I'd hoped. I guess I'm used to those Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days Later super fast moving zombies. But still, I'm sure I can overlook it. The zombies are still overwhelming in crowds. And some of the acting is a bit...ehhh. But still, I'll watch the entire series.

You're in for a treat, the first 4 seasons are really great, it starts dipping in and out of quality after season 4, but overall its a really good show, and seasons 9 and 10 have been really good since a new showrunner took over.

Just be a bit careful looking on the message board cause you'll get alot of spoilers in the titles.

I've enjoyed the Walking Dead since I first started watching it out of failure to find anything else to watch at the time. I turned it on, I think on NetFlix, thinking I would watch a few minutes, and then got absorbed with it, even though it was ridiculous. There was something about the series and the characters that appealed. Same with Fear The Walking Dead, but after season 4 for me.

The problem is the continued absurdity of the plots, and the stupidity of the characters. After a while it got to me, though I confess I tuned in last night for the second part of Season 10. I just found it got progressively more disappointing over the seasons.

So, I would say you are in the perfect spot, just starting to watch it and watching what I think anyway are the best seasons. Good luck

The show starts off great with interesting characters and their interactions. It has unforgettable moments. I've enjoyed the show for most of its run, but now it feels as if something is missing. It's still good enough to keep watching, but went from a 10 to perhaps a present 6.

That's what I keep hearing. And I think that's a shame, cause so far the show is quite promising. But hey, it happens to a lot of great series. Sometimes they have bad seasons, and sometimes they just never recover. But I'll keep watching it for as long as I can. My mom said she started losing interest after season 7.

I didn't watch the first couple of seasons but watched them during a marathon showing. I loved the show and was hooked from then on. The show is still a favorite. I love the characters and the conflicts and troubles they go through which are mainly with other humans.

I know many people who agree about season 7. But, then the show became better after that for a while.

Now, I'm hopeful about next season because the promo looks really good.

It's funny you mention unforgettable moments. This show was very much a part of popular culture and people couldn't wait to talk about the most recent episode, whether family, friends or coworkers.

In my opinion, that interaction is almost as enjoyable as the show itself. This show had plenty of moments that were talked about on social media and the old imdb boards as they were the most important things in the world at the time. It seems so silly now, but it gave us so many. Just one example - "Look at the flowers" became part of everyday conversation when someone said or did something you didn't like. LOL

I know someone who just started watching it, but he won't get to share in the water cooler talk that used to exist. That's the downside of not watching it when it airs.

It gets very boring once they arrive at Alexandria.

I've enjoyed the show again since Rick left though.

I think that six year time jump (sort of a soft reset) made a big difference. The way they've had to stop relying on scavenging stuff and create their own sustainable lifestyle is interesting - hydroelectric water wheels in Alexandria, horse drawn carriages with the carriages made from old cars, etc. The Saviors storyline just took way too long to unfold.

My biggest problem with the show is how un-menacing the walkers have become. The first few seasons they seemed dangerous, and the producers were more willing to kill off any character at any random time, so when they were exploring a dark building you were on the edge of your seat. But they've had too many scenes where people waded through big herds of walkers and either got away or killed them all. They're more of a nuisance now than a real threat.

Still seasons 9 and 10 have been an improvement and the show is still good enough to hold my attention.

I first started watching it last month, with Netflix. The first few seasons were amazingly good. I was totally hooked, stayed up way late at night watching it for hours.

I think the show collapsed once they reached Alexandria. It picks up a bit once Negan comes, but then it quickly drops again after a few episodes.

I'm up to season 8, and I haven't watched in about a week. I might resume soon, but I don't know.

I remember binge watching the first 4 seasons with my wife. We were very involved and found it very interesting and entertaining.

Once we got caught up to real-time, it became much more difficult to stay interested. The discussion boards on imdb were what really kept me in it. When imdb shut down the boards, I was pretty much done with it.
