Why don't Hilltop, Alexandria etc. have zombie masks?

Cut them out, dry them up, clean them. Wear them whenever they go out or if invaded by horde. Easy Superman-style camo as they totally ignore you once they see you look like them. It's magic. You already see how they easily turned on the whisperers when they didn't have their masks on.

Because they're not disgusting weirdos?

Not using a safe technique to avoid having zombies wanna eat you seem kinda dumb.

That season 10 bro. Michonne takes her sword and starts calling it Rick. Then she goes to the whisperers camp and beheads someone so they know she is serious business, then she demands they bring half their skins to Alexandria every month.

You first.

reply

Yea..

I found that weird - just put a zombie mask on = zombies think you are one of them?

In the seasons before you needed tons of zombie-meat-stuff to put all over your body to stay 'hidden'

reply

They mentioned early that zombies can smell them. It's the reason the guts-trick worked; it masked the human smell.

If you clean the zombie mask / skin, then it won't smell like the dead anymore

After the things you have to do to make them wearable, the masks would no longer smell like the dead anyway. Besides, in early seasons, they had to hang half the guts of a walker around their necks and those things were still sniffing at them and stuff.

Remember the first season when zombies were actually a threat? They remembered things from their past, they used tools and knew how to open doors.

reply

What!! I don't remember the zombies using tools. Could you point me to any specific episode?

reply

In the very first episode a zombie girl stops to pick up a teddy bear, and carries it with her. In the Atlanta scenes, in second or third episode i think, they get stuck in a store and zombies smash the windows with rocks. Morgen's wife, now a zombie, remembers her house and tries to open the door using the knob. There were more examples, but i can't remember exactly. Also, off topic but, Zombies were much harder to evade and kill, and i kinda miss that.

I think you have to live in shit for that to work. No showers, no clean clothes. It's a permanent lifestyle.

Simply putting the mask on won't trick zombies.
