An hour of walking through the snow....

...is this what passes for a season finale nowadays? That was the most boring and uneventful finale I've ever seen.

reply

Last week was great, but I have to agree. That was a piss poor finale.

This show has slowed to a snails pace, and it takes 6 episodes for anything really big to happen.

Weak finale. Killed all the momentum from last week.

reply

Totally agree. The only worthwhile thing was seeing Negan save Judith. The rest of it was just filler, and is probably the worst Walking Dead season finale I have seen in nine years watching the show. Dreadful.

The data scientists these days can figure by biometric data when people watch a TV show what they like, and whether their attention is focused. The can come up with formulas so that they can do the minimal amount of work necessary to keep people watching, and for every show they save money on they make more profit. So, you now have seasons of shows that crawl by - because face it, there is no arc, or destination or point to any TV show other than to make you pay or watch commercials. They throw in something every now and that that measures out as meaningful to people - and they get people to write reviews and make positive comments, or they can even use bots now, and they can sell shows that way. It is all about money - period.

reply

Agree. My God it was slow and bad.

Game of Thrones is back soon. I'm sure there will be plenty of mindless action for you to enjoy.

reply

Agreed. If TWD producers and writers just had mindless action and zombie gore, episode after episode...it would have gotten tired after just one season. Like it or not, people...this show is about the characters, and how they interact when faced with a ZA. I loved the finale. As stated elsewhere, it was hauntingly beautiful in how it was shot. And a handful of scenes (like Negan rescuing Judith and Dog) made the whole episode pay off for me. Another (very underrated) scene....was when the group came upon the 3 shadowy figures in the blizzard, and realized they were 3 walkers who froze where they stood, like frozen ghosts. Just how that 3 minute scene was shot....I thought was brilliant. You can't throw a Hail Mary every play. Some plays....you're just running up the middle for a 2 yard gain. But they are important yards, in the grander scheme of things.

If it is that cold in the air, enough to freeze a walker into shattering, how is it that the frozen walkers in the river under the snow are so full or energy? This show is idiotic.

reply

I think sometimes we just need to forgive some of the inconsistencies. Write them off in whatever fashion you need to. Maybe some of the "weaker", more fragile walkers froze like statues....while others (perhaps insulated in the snow, or for whatever reason are fresher and more robust), were able to avoid freezing solid.

reply

It's not like we all do not do enough of that ... is it? This show has pushed us to an insane level ... it's pretty ridiculous.

reply

Yeah, that was classic, cliche TWD writing. Zombies all hidden somewhere, having a nap, waiting for their cue to jump out. So dumb.

And if it was that cold, I doubt a Human would last long breathing that air.

reply

As opposed to mindless walking through the snow? What a mindless reply.
