censorship

I posted a very polite question here about the direction of the show. I am afraid to say what its is about. My understanding the moderators are normal people with no special traing how to moderate. So if 1 moderator has a "special" thing about a issue he can delete the thread.
My post was very polite with no threats or bad language with a mainstream topic. It had over 20 responces so other folks found the topic interesting.
We shouldn't have to step on egg shells.

reply

Yours was the homophobic thread, right?

reply

I wouldn't call it homophobic.

reply

I guess you wouldn't...

Was it the one that (wrongly IMHO) suggested that the show was pushing some sort of homosexual agenda?

Gay people exist in real life. Although this is a fantasy-horror show set in a post-apocalyptic world, it makes sense that gay people would exist in this world too, and two or three LGBTQ characters out of a cast of twenty plus regulars hardly represents some insidious propaganda.

reply

4.5 % of the US population is gay, if 3/20 are gay, that is 15%, 3 X the actual population. So yes, they are pushing the gay agenda.

reply

But why does it bother anyone that this show features a handful of LGBTQ characters? They're clearly the vast minority in any case.

As a side point, I'm more bothered by how few POC there is in a show that takes place outside of Atlanta, Georgia, a city with a 54% black population.

reply

It doesn't. Nobody cares, they are just pointing out a fact that based on statistics there are way to many gay people in the population. The show hasn't been in Georgia in years. Its been in Virginia. But since they are suspending the realism of the gay population, they are probably doing the same for the poc pop.

reply

Why don’t you start a new thread about lack of non-white people? Why don’t you visit all the forums for the major TV shows and post this on every board?

reply

I can understand op's opinion. In general, it feels 'unnatural' to see certain characters in specific shows. It's more natural in a modern setting. I get more annoyed when it's pushed two hundred years or more back in time, a time when homosexuality existed, but was always hidden in western culture.

It's all about context.

You can’t possibly make a statistical comparison between datasets of 325m and 20 lol???

reply

Late to this conversation, but bravo for this observation. The hilarity of people who think they're being insightful never ceases to amuse. Well played.

If you do not talk about what it was you said, then you are just trolling for sympathy. The moderation here doesn't make any sense to me. I suspect you said something nasty in a way you thought was clever and maybe someone had enough with those kinds of games? What was it?

reply

here is a example: If I say Trump may be a loud mouth but he has lowered the unemployment for blacks.
A totally factial comment but if a moderator is anti Trump he could censor it.

reply

I would disagree with that, not censor it.
That statistic is like when politicians claims that home-ownership is at the highest level ever in the USA ... which is always the case. It is a meaningless, but misleading statistic really.

If that is what you said and you got censored, I would disagree with the censor, but I doubt that is what is you said. Also, if you say stuff in an original post, versus a replying comment I think there is a greater standard. I think you would be safe explaining what it was you said, and even if your post got deleted, if you say it briefly enough it will still make it to my email inbox notification.

reply

Trump lowered unemployment for blacks. That's a fact.

reply

I have blasted the mods on this board for selective censorship. It's not just you.

reply

Most mods on every message board are there because they want to censor opinions they disagree with.
