Human teeth...

Can not bite through flesh or rip open your neck, break through your skull to eat brains. Our jaws and the shape of our teeth were not meant for this.

reply

Breaking through skulls aside, you're severely overestimating the durability of flesh...

reply

You're overestimating the power of most human jaws/teeth. There are few people that can bite off a persons finger with ease let alone an entire arm. In the show the undead zombies are seen ripping apart an entire rib cage with their teeth and even ''bare hands'' with ease to feast on organs. This is the silliest thing. They might as well used zombie ''lions'' instead of undead humans then it would be more realistic HAHA.

reply

But zombies can rise from the dead? ;-)

reply

Lol yeah you can't really start bringing in realistic logic about the Walkers.

If you wanna say that then you might as well say the dead can't walk around cause their muscles in their legs are rotted and they can't see or smell cause their nose and eyes are rotted. Nothing about the Walkers are meant to be realistic...

reply

Wasn't there a zombie from season 2 walking around with a broken neck? all logic is lost

reply

One of the original grosser-outers was that dead 1/2 a body in the first episode dragging herself through the park when Rick first got out of the hospital.

reply

A broken neck would mean paralysis...

reply

What does that have to do with anything?
If they arise from the dead.....they still have the same members and organs. They didn't develop a super sense of smell or super steal teeth with jaws that open twice as far. They still have the same jaws and teeth that humans are born with.

reply

If they can rise from the dead the laws of fantasy horror and not the laws of physics apply.

reply

Simple....the zombie virus augments the strength of the jaw muscles 10 fold. Problem solved!

There are actual real problems that I'm still reeling about. Such as the magical possibility of germ warfare using walker innards. It's not possible based on the history of the show. Period. This is one of the worst copouts these idiot writers have ever moronically attempted.

reply

I guess decomposition doesn't mean much to you. The teeth and jaw bone would be rotting and weakening regardless.

reply

I can only hope you're joking.

reply

No, the skeletons/teeth are the things that last. The jaw muscles and connective tissues would be falling apart. The muscles should be weak reducing the bite force they could emit.

reply

Hilariously enough, without the jaw muscles they wouldn't even be able to bite.

reply

"Such as the magical possibility of germ warfare using walker innards."
------------------------

It doesn't even matter if it's actually a possibility or not. In the story, the characters THINK it may work. Hell, they could be wrong. But the IDEA....is a decent assumption. Remember, the characters know less about this epidemic than we the observers do. And....I'm sure they have had some bad experiences with walker exposure and sickness. They ranch walkers like cattle, and I'm sure some people have gotten sick from it (like Gabriel). So, if they make an (assumption) that exposure to walker guts (could) be bad for you, I can understand why they'd think that. They may very well be wrong. It's certainly not an issue that ruins the story for me.

reply

I was never speaking of what characters thought. I was speaking of the ridiculous direction the writers were taking the show. Regardless, since many characters over many years have been injured with weapons that previously killed walkers, then no, your theory on character assumption holds no water. They've already witnessed nothing happens when they come in contact with blood.

Granted, at the beginning of the series I thought that would make them turn, but again and again, I was proven wrong. The writers can't now do a 180 and pretend now it's all of a sudden possible and have a mass turning like they did. That was some of the worst writing in the history of the written word.

Back to my original point though, the writers proved their idiocy with the most recent episode. This new behavior does not coincide with anything that's happened in the TV universe. Ever. This was a complete farce.

reply

It could get through flesh but it would be difficult with a lot of gnawing and tugging and ripping. The way people just fall apart like butter is just silly. They don't have super scent capabilities either. Remember at the prison, they fed some zombies some dead rats or rabbits or something and they treated it like they were bloodhounds and could smell meat from 10 miles away and knew the exact longitude/latitude coordinates to head to. The same with sound. A zombie 5 miles away hears a gunshot and knows exactly where to go. The little details in this show are horrible.

reply

Remember, the walkers have no sensation that would make them stop biting. They would bite and bite and bite regardless of any damage that may happen to their teeth.

reply

Biting through the human rib cage would definitely break off their teeth LOL

reply

The reason we have a pain response that deters us from biting that hard and persistently is because our teeth would fall out if we continued. Yet somehow the teeth of zombie as depicted in this show are anchored with a bond stronger than the often mushy skull they are attached to.

Biting through skin can be done, but it's not easy. This is aside from the fact that many fabrics - even lightweight fabrics - can be bite-proof from human teeth, yet are not used on this show.

It's so baffling that we don't see them wearing denim sleeves or kevlar mesh or ballistic nylon or even leather to protect themselves from bites and other injuries.

reply

It's so baffling the walkers haven't long ago rotted away!!!

reply

I'm just impressed that we're all still around to discuss a 4 year old post on this board.

reply

Mike Tyson would beg to differ.

reply

What this thread/subject really needs is a post from avortac4, explaining in lengthy excruciating detail why this doesn't make any sense!!!😂

reply

I hate you.

reply

I love you too.😂😂😂

Actually, I don't think I've ever seen Mr. Overthinker post anything on TWD at all!!

Way too much stuff on this show that doesn't make sense even for him, I guess!!!😎

reply

If that guy ever tried watching TWD, I imagine his brain would explode like an overripe melon.

reply

The more wasted zombies seem easier to kill as their skulls seem softer to the knives but what if the virus or whatever that reanimates the dead also creates a stronger bite and reinforced tooth that and their insatiable hunger for human flesh when even leaving a meal to confront a new human on the menu...
