Days of our lives - New level of terrible

Wow this has become a full on soap opera. It is literally written like young and the restless back in the day

reply

very disappointed with this show now

What, you didn't enjoy 25 minutes of Sasha and Rosita getting in touch with their feelings about each other and for Abraham? You didn't enjoy the brilliant military planning and strategy they were able to come up with after putting their heads together? You didn't appreciate the brilliance of one member going rogue and completely changing the battle plan just as things are beginning to unfold?

Brilliant.

I think next week we should watch the baby sitter of Judith just playing and bonding with Judith for the entire episode. Maybe we'll get to see Judith say her first word. That is the action this show is sorely missing.

reply

Lol. Yeah.

reply

Hah yep. How about let's see a show all about Tara? Oh yeah, we did. ☹

reply

A few years ago, Tara ( Alana Masterson) was at Horrorhound convention. She was charging a whopping $45 for an autograph! That was unheard of for a minor character. She was lambasted on FB and Twitter for that.

reply

I doubt even other dumpy unattractive chicks would pay for her autograph. Probably not even a dumpy lesbian if Tara included her room key and used panties.

reply

hah

reply

Seriously? Has she been in anything other than a handful of appearances in TWD?

$45 an autograph? I guess she has to pay for her fast food and asian buffets somehow.

reply

I just read what you wrote and nearly split my sides laughing. Well done!

reply

That's funny to you now. Someday that kind of thing won't be. I hope.

reply

I love you! No really, anyone who can see how rubbish this show has turned is special in my eyes! I feel im going out of my mind from people telling me that The walking dead is the best thing on Tv.

The show has turned into a walker! There is no saving her! She has opened her eyes and is now moaning and groaning! She needs to be put down!

reply

Somebody please just stab this show in the head.

I'm guessing you guys are just quite young, and prefer action over character development. For me, you can only have so much action, before you just run out of things to build action around--and it becomes slack-jawed and mindless. This is why the Fast & Furious movies have become so incredibly dumb and redundant. You can only do car chases so many ways before it just gets stupid. I think this show is, ironically, rather sophisicated....because it doesn't dumb everything down to the lowest common demoninator. There is actually character development....and build-ups to the action, a REASON for the action. It's much more a story about how humankind behaves (and devolves) when things in the world go south (like war, tsunami, poverty, or a Zombie Apocalypse.....rather than just a typical horror-fest. So in a way...it kinda IS a soap opera, I suppose, if you consider that soap operas are very in tune with developing characters.

It doesn't bother me at all--I think it's an awesome show. But not everyone is going to like every thing all the time. I just don't get why people still tune in if they hate it.

reply

I am not "quite young", rather quite old, and I can appreciate character development, but this has gone on wayyyyyy too long for too many episodes. These episodes, esp this season, have been filler and ways to stretch out this entire series for many more years to come. The show runners are betting on viewers to sticking around for the long haul, however long, and however tedious they deem to keep it going. Just recently, they said they think the show will go on for many years to come.
I feel manipulated and I do not like it.

reply

I agree with you 100%. Most episodes are nothing but filler. I have picked up on another technique the writers are using to help fill an episode while at the same time bring/action drama. They like to introduce new characters, build them up by putting them in dramatic situations and focusing on them more than others only to kill them off a few episodes later (ie- Richard and Benjamin and the Doctor from the Sanctuary)

reply

I agree. There was so much super slow buildup to this grand battle and then the battle just fizzled like a dud firecracker and they are right back EXACTLY at the same point the last season ended. A whole season just played out and the story has not moved forward one inch. A grand battle where no named characters even died (besides sasha). And she died for nothing. She ate one guys face but not the right guy, just a nameless extra.
It just felt like the whole season was on a treadmill. A lot of energy expended but not getting anywhere.

I'm also pretty old.

reply

Yo fam, your old ass forgot to close a bracket.

As for your opinion on this show being sophisticated; have you ever tried reading a book?

I'd recommend Fly-fishing if you can find a copy.

reply

Yes, I love reading. Quite a bit more than TV.
Great suggestion. More people should read.
As far as "old", I'm 31. Hardly old! LOL

reply

Young? Heh, I wish.
Anyways, I've defended this show many times about it being more than all zombie killing and gore, even though I love that stuff (and really, is there an age to it?). There was human conflict, the zombies weren't the only ongoing threat, characters got into interesting enough situations... There was a point to things. They didn't drag on (after they left the farm) too much, for my taste anyways. It felt like things were moving forward.

This season felt like a drag from start to finish. It began with last season's ending. I didn't even care they had this pointless cliffhanger, but until we got there... Damn. It felt like forever. The driving in circles, the repetition. It all bled into this season. And what happened during this season, really? Were any of the mundane things they showed us better than what we've been told instead of shown? It's gotten bland.

The 2nd half of the season just terrible. The scenes got even more ridiculous, predictable and had no impact on me. All those things could've been done in a 10 episode season. If they can't fill the episodes, then damn, make a shorter season.
And I'm sorry, "sophisticated?"
"Doesn't dumb things down?"
Have we been watching the same show recently?

And people don't hate it, I assume. Maybe they, like myself, enjoyed themselves up till now and are waiting for things to pick up again. I've lost the sense of anticipation I've had for this show. I don't even care if they kill everyone I like at this point.

reply

Well, opinions do vary. I enjoy this show quite a bit each week. I get that it seems odd to have what, on the surface, appears to be a zombie/horror show....that often is a "slow burn", rather than continuous action. For me, I like the whole approach. But it's obviously not appreciated by everyone. Hopefully the "payoff" that is coming will make believers of you all once again. This show has always gone to great lengths to not only be intelligent and to take risks, but also to create payoffs that have been worth the build-up. It's funny how raw violence...satiates the ravenous. It throws them a bone.

reply

It just seems very poorly paced as of late.
I mean, I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, but I wanna enjoy it too.

It doesn't have to be raw violence (again, not that I see the issue with that in a zombie apocalypse). I just want to feel like we're not going in circles.
Remember that episode where Rick and Daryl first met Paul? It was silly and somewhat atypical of the show that usually takes a more sordid approach to things, but it was well done and enjoyable (to me). It was one of my favorite episodes of the season and nobody even died, if memory serves.

reply

Absolutely agree. I just don't "feel" for the characters very much. I've read rumors of who will die next and it's like, "oh well, ta ta". The entire fiasco with the Lucille cliffhanger just soured me to no end.

There is only one character that I would not like to lose, Rick.

reply

That was a terrible episode, but I felt the one after was an improvement, mainly because they focused on more than one group. If they can focus on multiple story lines in each episode then I feel the show will get better. There have been too many bottle episodes this season.

reply

new season, new hope I always say. But this show IS bad now. It has been for a while. Sad but true...

reply

I respect others opinions but if you think the show is so bad, why would you watch it? I'm not trying to be a smart ass or anything, I just don't get it. Others saying it moves too slow and they don't like it anymore. If it bored me or if I thought it was not a good show, I wouldn't watch it.

I love the show. Most of the time I want the storyline to go faster but I'm entertained and enjoy every episode. Some episodes are better than others of course. They have to drag things on if they are going to keep giving the people that love the show more seasons. I NEVER thought I'd enjoy a show about zombies at all and now it's 1 of my favorite shows.

Surely I get irked at times. Like why wouldn't they concentrate on killing Negan, number 1 priority. The King has to have control over his Tiger otherwise he would be biting anyone and everyone so why didn't the Tiger jump on Negan first especially with the bat half cocked on Carl's head?

That would be too easy and they have to have Negan for next season. You could pick apart a lot of things that don't make sense but that's show business.

reply

I appreciate everything you said.
However....there is just no way The King (Ezekiel) would be able to communicate to a tiger: "Go kill the guy holding the bat". Once he released the tiger, it became pretty random who it attacked.

reply

I see what your saying and it makes sense that he can't order it to attack certain people. BUT how does Ezekiel know he isn't going to bite any of their people? How does he know it will only attack the bad guys? Guess it's just a plot hole they will never try to explain.

reply

i hope it improves i guess. it has its ups and downs, but this season has been god awful. im not gonna jump ship because of 1 bad season tho. ive been watching since day one, and no one can say that the show it at its best right now.

Every time I saw Sasha's masturbating face on screen, I cringed so hard my cheekbones broke.

Sasha's stupid face and her stupid flashbacks killed the pacing and by the time her walker self was out of the coffin I didn't give a fuck about what happens next.

reply

I did not understand the flashbacks. Why did she say Abraham drowned. And how did Abraham know about Oceanside. This show is firmly in walker Texas ranger level now

reply

the point was the shows usual character-send-off circlejerk before she dies.
Executed terribly...

reply

Imagine if they had done that for Lori or tdog. A long drawn out farewell. No one would have watched it. Kinda pissed this show tricked me into liking it and now it's god awful. Everyone from the original episodes should be dead by now. Ricks character has been explored thoroughly. So have the others. Around season 4 they just stopped killing main characters. Sasha is not a main character. And she got more send off than true main characters. It is horrible. I am literally rooting for negan to kill them at this point. Whoever decided that certain characters should get plot armor for season after season really killed the only thing that was good about his show. That anyone could die. i guess they are following the comic book. Grenns death was excellent. But I was happy he died. About time. way overdue.

reply

So you watch DOOL? Lol!

reply

No. That's the point

reply

But how do you know this season is as bad as DOOL when you've never seen it? Comparisons are made by experience no?..... or at least an intimate knowledge of both subjects being compared.

reply

Who hasn't seen a soap opera? You are trolling poorly

reply

I haven't. And the fact that you said troll clearly shows you are who you accuse me of.

Lol, is that your attempt at deflecting your love for soap opera shows? Bye, I can't condescend any further.

reply

Weird chick man. Weird chick
