Foreshadowing in S1Ep5 *Spoilers*

If you haven't watched the last 2 episodes of Haven (series finale), beware of spoilers below.

I am rewatching the entire series now that I have finished it, and I realized that way back in S1Ep5 Ball and Chain they foreshadowed Duke's death and how it would happen.
Towards the end of the ep, Nathan is outside the lighthouse with Duke trying to keep him alive, and he tells Duke that he won't die until Nathan can be the one to do it himself. It was supposed to be a light-hearted moment to cut the tension, since at the time despite their rocky relationship it is obvious Duke and Nathan love each other like brothers. Why would Nathan ever kill Duke, right?
The moment gave me chills in light of the fact that Nathan does actually end up killing Duke in a heart-breaking moment of sacrifice for both. Kudos to the writers for bringing that back full circle.

On another note, I think it would have been great if at the end of the series they would have brought back baby Jean (Duke's daughter from this episode). With Duke gone, there would be no danger in her coming back home and it would have been a great "life goes on" moment. There should always be a Crocker in Haven. 😀

Sorry, I did say not to read if you hadn't seen the series finale, not season finale. Sorry to spoil it for you! 😞

I never actually noticed that on rewatching 'Haven't but you are right about the show coming full circle at the end and I do think Nathan and Duke come a long way together and cared for each other in the end. I didn't think about Jean either but it would have been nice to have seen her come to 'Haven' but there were a lot of characters from the first season that were forgotten like Julia who looked like she was supposed to have a bigger role going forward.

It really threw me when Nathan mentioned killing Duke himself, can't believe they brought that back around.
I guess I haven't gotten back to those episodes yet, but who was Julia?
