I remember Cuba Gooding Jr. winning an Oscar for his upporting role in Jerry Macguire and one or two meorable roles after that, but wtf happened to this man's career? Was there a scandal? Drugs? What? Or does he just have a lousy agent?

Seriously? With the exception of a couple of roles (Jerry and Boyz), this dude can't act if his life depended on it. He's way too full of himself and that giant ego shines through every character he attempts to embody.

I'm not alone in feeling this way.
I remember reading that his ego got the best of him and he ended up leaving the agent that got him Jerry Maguire for a more "high profile" agent instead.
That probably didn't help.

Agreed, I also want to know. I came to this board with the very question. A couple vague "maybes" were mentioned, but I'm curious if anyone has any facts. How did this guy go from total A-list Oscar material to doing crappy bottom of the barrel flicks?
