Question About the Fingerprint

My question would be would the fingerprint of a 9 year old be different in size than when he is 40?
Wouldn't your fingers be bigger at 40 than 9? So wouldn't the ridges be farther apart from growth?
So you might be able to tell that it was the same person from the pattern but would you also be able to tell that they were of different ages?

Fingerprints do not change as an individual ages. In particular, a baby will have the same fingerprint patterns as the adult they will become. This means that the average separation of the skin ridges will increase as the child grows and the fingers get larger.

And here's the website I got that from...just scroll way down.
