the thing i never get with time travel movies is...he only wanted to change things because his life went bad went his mum died. but he killed his mum! how does that work? surely in the first ever reality he hasnt killed his mum when he was a baby, so none of it would ever happen anyway!?
shareAh, but there are two theories with time travel. One is that the past cannot be changed, and so killing yourself would be impossible, for instance, because otherwise you would not be able to get there in the first place if you died. Another theory is that you would instead create a change in the universe. Think of it as millions of parallel universes, and your decision determine which one you are in... thus, if you killed yourself, you are creating a NEW universe, rather than sticking to the one you are in...

ha! very good point and iv changed it now :) although...as soon as he picked up the newspaper clipping at the start of the movie i was thinking "check the date...time travel!" but they still needed to ram it home 10 times later on in the movie!!!
shareI think in the first time, he lived with his mom as a child. He called her a crack whore and a fondler. So he lived with her long enough to remember the abuse. He came back and killed her when he was a baby to get a better life.
Only his life didn't get better. He was instead sent to live with an abusive aunt. Who knows how long he lived with her in the when he was initially growing up. Probably much longer than in this timeline where he kills her while he is only four.
Each time he kills, he is hoping to change his horrible childhood but it never works. Instead he ends up with a different horrible childhood, so he tries to fix that too.

it was a clever film and an original film, something different
